As of now, what kinds of things will be listed in Continuous Song?

  • anything open to the public (concerts, events, rituals, etc) and within a ~2hr driving radius from central LA
  • concerts/shows: choirs, professional vocal groups, vocal jazz groups, collegiate + high school choirs, youth choirs, college a cappella, opera
  • participatory singing events: one-day choirs, circlesongs, living room jams, informal hangs
  • collective singing actions: performance art, ritual singing, protests
  • other, unclassifiable forms of collective singing

As of now, what kinds of things will not be listed in Continuous Song?

  • anything closed to the public: private sings, members-only events
  • events outside a 2-hour driving radius from Central LA
  • events focused on solo singing: solo voice concerts, karaoke, voice lessons)
  • school choir concerts below HS: middle school concerts, etc.

Will all submissions be listed?

As of now, Continuous Song is an aggregator, not a curator. Depending on scale, I will be doing my best to list all submissions that meet the criteria above! If you’re a music creators, producer, or singer, I invite you to submit up to 3 events each month for inclusion (you can submit an event whether or not you are involved in organizing or promoting it).

If I see one of my events listed on Continuous Song that has been submitted by someone else, how can I request that it be edited or removed?

To request listing edits or removals, email ab@asherblank.com. If you are working on an event in collaboration with others, please submit only one listing to Continuous Song

In the future, Continuous Song also hopes to publish:

  • vocal group classifieds: auditions, openings, ISO’s
  • service offerings: voice lessons, arranging, directing, notating

I want to help make sure this exists. Can I help you with this?

Yes! My hope is for this to be a volunteer-led team project. I’m looking for help writing and editing this newsletter, finding events, processing submissions, and eventually writing short blurbs about select events.

If you’d like to support this project but would rather spare money over time, you can become an $8/month or $80/year paid subscriber. Funds from subscriber donations will go towards start-up costs like website maintenance and eventually towards paying contributors.
